About South London

Return to South London main page
South London is located just below Mosquito Pass. There are upper and lower mills, connected by a tram. In all, there are at least five well-preserved mills. The tram that connected the upper and lower mills was a whopping 4500 feet long, and some of it is still intact. The opening photo shows the upper mills and some cabins. The virtual tour shows how the upper and lower mills connect via the tram. The main London Mill is the large mill at the bottom of the tram. The North and South London mines operated from 1883 well into the 20th century. The photographs below were all taken at the upper mills.
